This is the time of year we are all looking frantically for the gifts to give ourloved ones and those we want to remember this Christmas. I am in the process of reading three newly published books that deserve to be considered. Think about buying these books for the people on your list, and then some.
“HEROES AND HIGH BOBBIN’ GOOD TIMES” by Pake McEntire, is 362 pages of hilarity, honesty and family. One thing about Pake is that ‘he tells it like it is’and ‘no holds barred.' His experiences with his family and friends is extremely interesting. You’ll laugh out loud. You’ll also learn exactly how much feeling Pake has for those close to him, and how he feels about his precious time with them. Pake is crusty, witty and a great story-teller. “COWGIRL UP! A HISTORY OF RODEO WOMEN” by Heidi M. Thomas and sells for $16.95 by publisher Morris Book Publishing, LLC. True stories of the West’s greatest cowgirls who came from Montana. The stories of the Greenough gals, Kailla Mussell, Fannie Sperry Steele, Marie Gibson Jonnie Jonckowski and more and included by this author from eastern Montana. Her first book, a novel, Cowgirl Dreams, won an EPIC Award and her second novel, Follow the dream, won a WILLA Literary Award.
“RODEO STORIES, A COLLECTION OF TRUE COWBOY TALES” by Chimp Robertson published by Authorhouse. Chimp was a rodeo contestant, among many other things. This is not his first book, but he was kind enough to write the stories cowboys tell, but seldom can be found in book form. Some are about well known cowboys such as Donnie Gay and Abe Morris. These stories will give the reading public an inside view to the life of contesting cowboys that travel the rodeo road to make a living.
And don’t forget my newest book, “WESTERN WOMEN WHO DARED TO BEDIFFERENT” published by Wild Horse Press and sells for $22.95 plus shipping. It is ten chapters on ten amazing women who have accomplished exciting things and will inspire any one who reads it to realize ‘anything is possible’ if you have a passion for it.
Now let me admit I am not completely through these books yet. My schedule has been full of trips and interruptions, but I’ll keep reading until I have finished them all. But right now is when you start thinking about gifts for Christmas, even though we haven’t even celebrated Thanksgiving yet. Trust me, these books won’t disappoint you and will please the reader.
